Freeway Interchanges  Diverging Diamond Interchanges  Conceptual Planning
Abstract: The I-71/75 & KY 338 Richwood Road Interchange Project is part of a comprehensive plan by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and Boone County to improve transportation service in the rapidly growing I-71/I-75 corridor. The area surrounding the KY 338 (Richwood Road) interchange has experienced rapid development, leading to increased traffic on the local road network. Add to this the continued growth in traffic on I-75, one of the nation’s largest commercial routes, and you get traffic congestion and high accident rates. With this area expected to continue to grow over the next 20 years, so will the congestion and safety issues.
